Education without barriers.
Empowering persons with disabilities through inclusive, accessible, and supportive learning environments across Zambia.

"Advocating for community-based interventions that modify learning environments."
Who We Are
A grassroots voice for inclusive education in Zambia.
Founded in August 2021, ABLE (Advocacy for Better Learning Environments) is a registered Zambian civil society organisation based in Mambwe, Eastern Province.
Our journey began with a clear realization: that thousands of persons with disabilities in Zambia are blocked from quality education not by their abilities, but by physical, financial, and systemic barriers.
We work tirelessly to remove these obstacles, advocating for learning environments that are inclusive, accessible, and supportive of every learner's unique needs.
Guided by a clear vision and mission
Everything we do flows from two foundational commitments — a vision of what Zambia's education system should look like, and a mission that drives us every day to make it real.
"A supportive learning environment for sustainable life for persons with disabilities in Zambia."
To remove barriers to education for persons with disabilities through advocacy, community-based interventions, and skills training, ensuring every individual can thrive in an inclusive learning environment.
The Challenge
Barriers that block potential.
In Zambia, thousands of persons with disabilities face multiple hurdles that prevent them from exercising their right to quality education.
Financial Barriers
High costs of specialized learning materials and assistive devices prevent many from accessing education.
Physical Barriers
Inaccessible school infrastructure and lack of modified facilities exclude persons with mobility challenges.
Systemic Barriers
Lack of trained inclusive educators and rigid curriculum structures that don't accommodate diverse learning needs.
Social Barriers
Stigma and negative community perceptions often lead to the exclusion of persons with disabilities from learning.
Why it matters?
Education is not just a right; it is the foundation for a sustainable life. When we remove barriers, we unlock the economic and social potential of millions who have been historically left behind.
